The In Living Memory exhibition of photographs from the Aborigines
Welfare Board, currently on display at State Records Gallery in The Rocks, has been so popular that it has been extended twice and a special travelling version has embarked on a 17 venue tour of New South Wales until October 2010.
The exhibition addresses the photographs as living records with compelling histories and powerful connections to the present. In Living Memory is helping to create a new purpose and place for the Board's photographs within contemporary Indigenous life.

A Land Fit For Heroes? A History of Soldier Settlement in New South Wales, 1916-1939
This is a website dedicated to the memory of Soldier Settlement in NSW. Some 40,000 returned
servicemen and women took up an offer of farming land, made possible by Soldier Settlement schemes in all the states of the Commonwealth. NSW boasted the largest of Australia’s Soldier Settlement Schemes and the NSW State archives record the bitter trials and enormous achievements of Australia’s first soldier settlers.
This project has been generously funded by the Australian Research Council, Monash University and the University of New England, under an ARC linkage scheme, together with linkage partners State Records NSW and the Department of Veterans’ Affairs.

A statutory body established by the State Records Act 1998, we manage the NSW State archives collection and set the rules and provide guidance on the management of official records. Our off-budget Government Records Repository (GRR) provides records storage services to the public sector.
