This two day workshop introduces methods to prevent disasters and respond quickly and efficiently to disasters that occur. The course will help NSW public offices understand the compliance requirements of the Standard on counter disaster strategies for records and recordkeeping systems.

Attendees This course is suitable for people responsible for organisational disaster response in the NSW public sector; recovery teams or people developing risk assessments and/or counter disaster plans for records.

Course outcomes

By the end of this course participants should be able to:

  • implement preventative procedures including managing risk assessments and identifying vital records
  • compile a counter disaster plan and kit for managing disasters
  • supervise a disaster response and recovery team
  • react to disasters efficiently and effectively, and
  • manage the recovery and restoration of information resources.
