This course provides participants with information on how to use the General Disposal Authority for Local Government Records (GDA 10), appropriate methods of storage and destruction of records and how to prepare records for transfer to State Records as State archives.

By the end of this course participants should understand the development and content of GDA 10 and the fundamental elements and activities of records disposal:

  • implementing GDA 10
  • sentencing records
  • managing archival records
  • transferring records
  • destruction of records, and
  • documentation.
