This guide explains the essential concepts of records, recordkeeping and records management that underpin good practice in NSW public offices.
The guide is based on the good practice set out in the State Records' Government Recordkeeping Manual, the Australian standards AS ISO 15489 Records Management (2002) and AS 4390-1996 Records Management. Two earlier publications, Records and Recordkeeping: An Introduction to New Concepts and What is Records Management? have been withdrawn with the publication of this guide.
