  • About the Forum

    The Records Managers Forum promotes communication between NSW public sector records managers and provides an opportunity to exchange news, discuss issues of current concern and highlight achievements and projects in NSW Government agencies.

    Themes for past Forums have included disaster management, the State Records Act, State Records' new guidelines for transfer, and access to records under Part 6 of the Act.

    The Forums are held on a quarterly basis (one in regional NSW) and attendance is limited to NSW public sector employees.

    Themes for past Forums have included disaster management, the State Records Act, State Records' procedures for archives transfer and knowledge management. Reports on past Records Managers Forums are available from February 2004 onwards.

    Next Forum

    The next forum will be held on 23 November 2009 at The Theatrette at NSW Parliament, Macquarie Street Sydney.

    The forum will focus on the theme of access to information and will include presentations on:

    • the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 by Nigel Waters of the Office of the Information Commissioner

    • making government information more accessible (including initiatives such as information.nsw web site, apps4nsw competition and the data.nsw web site and catalogue) by Kate Harrington and Helen Palmer, Government Chief Information Office, and 

    • metadata for managing digital information by Cassie Findlay, State Records NSW.

    When: Monday 23 November

    Time: 9.30am - 12 noon

    Where: The Theatrette, Parliament House, Macquarie Street, Sydney. Enter the Parliament from Macquarie Street and proceed through security. (Allow an extra 5 to 10 minutes for security
