Approximately 60 records managers attended the Records Manager's Forum held at St Patrick's Crypt on Monday 23 February 2004. The theme was 'Disaster Management'.
Following the welcome, presentations were given by:
- Jenny Evans, Manager, Information Coordination Unit Department of Lands, on 'Disaster Strikes!' (ppt, 51kb) and her experience in dealing with a disaster.
- Emily O'Reilly, Senior Conservator State Records NSW on 'Don't Panic - it's only a disaster' 'Don't panic - it's only a disaster!' (ppt, 7.1mb) with useful tips and advice on preparing for, and surviving a disaster, and
- Catherine Robinson, Senior Project Officer, Government Recordkeeping State Records NSW on the 'Standard on Counter Disaster Strategies for Records and Recordkeeping systems' (ppt, 55kb).

The message that emerged from the presentations was that it is essential to be prepared for a disaster, whether it is having a disaster bin for minor matters or having phone numbers of appropriate disaster recovery specialists.
