Better recordkeeping for small public offices

The briefing covered the following issues:

- a checklist (Word 24kb) that staff can use to determine when records should be captured into recordkeeping systems
- a set of examples (Word 25kb) explaining different forms of recordkeeping classification schemes that can be used as tools to improve record accessibility and facilitate records management - note that State Records recommends functional classification as the most effective means to control and access records
- a list of the basic metadata (or information) elements that should be used to describe records in recordkeeping systems. (This has since been replaced by the Standard on digital recordkeeping)
