4 February: Where there's a will - Probate packets and related records Feb 04, 2012 from 01:30 PM to 03:30 PM Society of Australian Genealogists, Richmond Villa, 120 Kent Street Sydney,
Records relating to the administration of the deceased person's estate may help fill in some of those frustrating gaps or inconsistencies on death certificates. These records include Probate Packets (generally containing the deceased's last will and testament); Deceased Estate files; Intestate Estate files. This talk will explain how to access these documents, demonstrate the type of information they contain for genealogists and provide tips and tactics for beginners as well as guidance for more experienced researchers. Chrisitine Yeats will be presenting.

This one-day War comes to Australia Seminar will provide insight into the impact of war on Australia generally. Christine Yeats will be presenting Tracing Military Ancestors.

Christine Yeats will speak about the history of public education in NSW in the 19th and early 20th century. She will draw on sources in the NSW State archives as well as local resources. This event is hosted by the Randwick and District Historical Society

This seminar will: - provide an update on the closure of State Records city office (presented by Christine Yeats) - introduce the group to the new tool - the API - for searching our online catalogue, using public transport records such as rail, tram, bus and ferry records (presented by Lindsay Allen).
