This index was a volunteer project compiled from the following records:
NRS 1173, Register of convicts recommended for Conditional Pardons 6 May 1826-30 Jun 1856
The first two volumes contain the following information about the individual convict: number and date of pardon; name; ship; master; year of arrical; native place, trade or calling; offence; sentence; year of birth; height, conplexion, colour of hair and eyes, and general remarks, together with details of who recommended him and the result of the application.
The last volume only notes name, number and ship of arrival with occasional other details - [4/4478-80] 3 vols. Fiche 824-835

These volumes provide details of convicts recommended for pardons and usually the names of the person or persons who did so. There is an index in the front of each volume [4/4489-90] 2 vols. Reel 800
