Outreach activities

Introductory talks at  State Records’ reading room

We offer introductory talks about the operations of State Records and the records in its collection for family and local history groups, Indigenous groups, school and TAFE and university students at either location. It may be possible to also arrange a tour of the facilities at Western Sydney during the week as part of the introductory talk. These introductory talks and tours are provided at no cost to the group.

For your local/family history society

We also participate in external activities with other organisations, such as family history societies. These include seminar presentations, information stalls and talks.

Our topics include

  • Archives Resources Kit
  • Convicts
  • Colonial Settlers
  • Family history
  • Land records
  • Law and disorder (Crimes and criminals)
