Digital cameras, laptops and self-service copiers and cameras
Digital cameras
Two digital cameras are up and running at the WSRC for your use. All for free! Photograph the archives and save the images onto a USB stick. There is a step-by-step leaflet to help first time users. Simply save your images onto a USB key (bring one in or buy one over the counter).
Digital copiers
Copies of records from microfilm, microfiche and aperture card can also be downloaded onto a memory stick (in the reading room). The digital copiers are free to access and use. Bring your own USB memory stick (or buy one over the counter).

Using personal computer and cameras
You can bring your own equipment with you to use in the reading room; laptops, scanners and cameras are permitted. If you intend to use a scanner please contact the Senior Archivist, Access and Information at accinfo1@records.nsw.gov.au before you visit.
You may photograph original records in the reading room using a camera. Permission to photograph is subject to the items being in good condition.
When using electronic equipment, such as laptops and scanners, we recommend you use batteries as our reading room is not protected against power surges. We suggest that you always backup up your work regularly to ensure minimal loss.
We do not accept responsibility for any loss or damage to equipment.
