#OnThisDay 16 January 1793 the first group of free settlers arrived at Port Jackson aboard the Bellona. There were five men, two women and six children. These immigrants were the first free settlers to receive land grants on 7 February 1793. The granted land was at Liberty Plains, now Strathfield and Homebush.
