Monday 7 September 2015: History Week Event -Treasures from the Great War Sep 07, 2015 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM State Records NSW 143 O'Connell Street Kingswood ,
Come along to hear about the NSW Government's role during the Great War and records giving an insight into life in NSW during the war years. Hear about the military horse census and records relating to Gallipoli and Anzac Day, the contributions made by Government employees who went to war, including those who didn't return, those who survived and what happened to them afterwards. Follow this with a guided tour of the Public Service/War Service exhibition.

Gail Davis will be presenting this session at the NSW & ACT Association of Family History Societies Inc Annual Conference, 11-13 September 2015. As well as presenting this talk Gail will also be hosting an exhibitors table at the Conference.
Wednesday 16 September: Popular Entertainment in the Colony, 1828-1856 Sep 16, 2015 from 07:30 PM to 09:30 PM Burnside Public School Hall, 1 Masons Drive, North Parramatta (near the corner of Pennant Hills Rd),
The Colonial Secretary, under An Act for regulating places of public exhibition and entertainment (1828), reviewed all applications for performances to be held in New South Wales. Thus the Colonial Secretary’s letters received includes the scripts of plays from the 1840s and 1850s. Janette Pelosi will be speaking to the Parramatta and District Historical Society about the variety of performances and entertainments in Sydney and elsewhere in the colony.

Gail Davis will be making this presentation to Kogarah Historical Society. The talk looks at the weird wonderful and sometimes surprising records we hold as NSW State archives.
