The Roll of Solicitors contains the names of solicitors admitted by the Supreme Court of New South Wales under Legal Practitioners Act, 1898 (Act No. 22 1898) and subsequent acts. The roll records the full name and signature of the Solicitor, the date of admission and remarks. Remarks include previous jurisdictions in which the Solicitor has served, whether the name was subsequently removed at the Solicitor's request, struck off, or the candidate was admitted to the bar or died.
It would appear that when this volume was commenced there was a decision to entitle it 'Roll of Solicitors' rather than 'attorneys' to exclude proctors, barristers, and conveyances which are covered by the term 'Attorneys".
The series is arranged in chronological order of admission. There is an index by surname at the front of the volume.
