In August 2002 several documents relating to the capture of the bushranger Ned Kelly and his gang were returned to State Records' custody. These documents (temporary ref: State Records NSW: NUA226) were archival estrays (that is, they had passed from the control of the public office responsible for the record). The documents belong with State Records NSW: Colonial Secretary; CGS 906, Special bundles, 1826-1982, Kelly Gang - Papers re reward, capture etc., 1879-82 [SZ 71], Reel 1709. The documents will be reunited with these papers.
State Records received a second series of documents, also archival estrays, in May 2003 (temporary ref: State Records NSW: NUA 262). These have been added below.
