Registers of auriferous (gold) leases, 1874-1928: This index will be of interest to local and family historians researching gold lease records during the period 1874-1928. There are 53,076 entries in this index.
Registers of Settlement Purchases: This index that was a Volunteer project covers the land districts from Albury to Young for the years 1905-1937.
Returned Soldier Settlement Miscellaneous Files: The indexing of two boxes of Qualification Certificates in these miscellaneous files has been a volunteer project. These appear to be the only surviving examples of World War 1 Qualification Certificates from New South Wales.
Surveyors' Field Books, 1794-1860: The index records surveyor's name, date and locality covered and gives book number, item number and reel number (if available on microfilm). There are 813 entries to search.
Surveyor General's Crown Plans, 1792-1886: A complete listing of the Surveyor General's Select List of Maps and Plans (and Supplement) which is also available in our reading rooms. There are 6508 entries to search.
Surveyors' Letters, 1822-55: These are letters received from surveyors, mostly relating to matters such as the survey description of farms, reserves, churches, schools, rivers and mountain ranges, or forwarding tracings and plans of these after survey.
Index to Depasturing licences, 1837-46, 1851: This index will be of interest to local and family historians researching the people who leased land beyond the Nineteen Counties. There was some unauthorised occupation of Crown land from the earliest days of the colony. Governor Darling created an area known as the 'limits of location' — creating two areas within the colony by a Government order on 5 September 1826. Settlers were only allowed to take up land within the ‘limits’. A further Government order on 14 October 1829 increased this area of approved settlement to include an area called the Nineteen Counties
Squatters and Graziers 1837-49: This index will be of interest to local and family historians researching land records during the period 1837-49. There are 9003 entries in this index.
